Depression Relapse Prevention (MBCT)

Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)

Dr Mark Craigie and Alison Dougall (clinical psychologists) currently run a modified version of the 8-week MBCT group training program for adults recovering from depression and or experiencing anxiety at The Marian Centre, a private psychiatric hospital in Perth, Western Australia. The modified version consists of 7-sessions over 8 weeks. MBCT in this format runs as a daypaitent program for five Wednesday evening sessions, and two Saturday morning sessions. The first 6 sessions are completed in 1-month, with a 7th review session occurring 1-month later. If you have private hospital health insurance and are interested in attending, then please contact The Marian Centre hospital reception or therapy liaison officer on T: 08 9380 4999 to determine eligibility and costs. Finally, if you are being referred by a Doctor external to The Marian Centre, then an assessment interview is required prior to being admitted to determine if the program is suitable for your current needs.

Dr Craigie is also available for individual consultations in regard to using mindfulness to address  personal psychological and well-being needs, although an assessment interview is required first to determine if mindfulness is an appropriate approach. Moreover, if you or your organisation are interested in the full 8-week MBCT group program for adults without a current mental health problem, but wishing to learn mindfulness in this format outside of the hospital system, then please contact Mark for further information.

Finally, Dr Craigie is an approved supervisor with the Psychology Board of Australia. He can provide individual or group professional supervision for qualified mental health practitioners wishing to deliver MBCT in an outpatient or non-clinical setting.
